My work for my annual one man show has been delivered to Pasadena!

Endless Inspiration- Paintings of the California Landscape
Galerie Gabrie, Pasadena, CA.
May 8th - June 30th
Reception: Thursday, May 10th, 2012
5:00pm - 8:00pm

I have added paintings for the show to my LANDSCAPE page.
Stop by for the reception!

While looking over sketches as studies, organizing the theme of my show, I kept thinking of how descriptors for art and music are so interwoven- rhythms, harmonies, compositions. I wanted this body of work to have the kaleidoscope virtuosity of a Beatles album! The California landscape is a musical score open to limitless interpretations. The twelve bar blues notes in Bodie, the Vivaldi lyricism of Camp View from Ediza, the Mussorgsky weighted drama of Pasadena, the country twang in the Sierra solitude of Mt. Ritter and the sheer exuberance of the Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band in Morning in the Rose Garden- in each of these paintings I strove to perform the visual musical variety of my travels. California is a great muse- please enjoy the music we have made together.

I was honored to receive the
Irvine Museum Gold Medal Award
during the California Art Club 101st Gold Medal Exhibition at the Autry Museum.
The painting was purchased by the historic California Club and will hang in their permanent collection. It is truly a honor to receive this award from this historic exhibition.

I have added information on my
HOPE VALLEY SPRING WORKSHOP
JUNE 9th - 12th
to my WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES<

I am now represented by JOSH HARDY GALLERIES in Carmel, CA. I must admit, it feels good to have my work hanging with Mr. Payne, Mr. Wendt, and others!

I have an entry in my RANDOM RAMBLINGS page. In it I try to give a better sense of my art education with photos and samples of my student work.
